Basset Chambers is a set of barristers’ chambers. Its members offer advisory and litigation services. Set up in November 2000, by Desire Basset SC GOSK, and Nandraj Patten as a specialised set of chambers specialised in litigation in company, land and civil law, its members’ areas of practice expanded considerably to cover all areas of litigation, including civil, commercial, administrative, and constitutional.

Chambers’ clients come from widely different backgrounds, including individuals, professionals, construction companies, hotels and actors in the fashion, banking and finance, global business, telecommunications, real estate and property industries.

Members of Chambers each have their own areas of practice in which they excel and handle both litigation and advisory work. Basset Chambers’ barristers have featured in a number of landmark decisions from the Supreme Court and significantly contributed to the development of the legal landscape of Mauritius.
